RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helps to clear shipments held in customs by communicating required information (proof of export, etc)
  • Processes and tracks internal shipping requisitions and reconciles with charges, following up on exceptions; also reviews and reports on variances to budget
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for all shipping requests from stores and suppliers
  • Assist in developing improved logistics solutions and ensure they are appropriately implemented
  • Tracks all inter-company shipments to ensure on-time delivery and follow up on any exceptions
  • Manages performance metrics for key logistics partners
  • Develops and maintains a procedures manual for the position
  • Leads selected (ad hoc) projects to successful implementation, including meeting stated objectives in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Provides back-up support for the accounting department in completing routine monthly data entry or bookkeeping tasks

REQUIREMENTS

  • Two years’ experience in logistics support in a corporate office environment desired
  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent
  • Strong organization skills, accuracy and detail-orientation are integral to success in this role
  • Proven ability to work independently and contribute as a team player
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to a variety of tasks and people
  • A professional demeanor coupled with a positive and constructive sense of humor
  • The ability to maintain utmost confidentiality with all information and interactions
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and collaborative skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint required
  • Office administration, bookkeeping or accounting training and/or experience would be a definite asset
